Dawit Tegbaru
Dawit is a May 2026 graduate of the UNT Dallas College of Law. He has experience supporting family law, civil litigation, intellectual property, and transactional matters. In his family law work, he focuses on custody modifications, divorce finalization, and enforcement of court orders. He brings genuine empathy recognizing that family law matters involve individuals navigating significant life transitions. His personal and professional experiences have instilled in him the patience and focus required for client-centered advocacy.
Prior to law school, Dawit spent over a decade in scholarly and technical publishing, managing large-scale publication workflows and institutional partnerships at organizations including Knowledge Futures Group (founded by MIT Press and the MIT Media Lab).
Dawit served as the President of the Intellectual Property Society and is a Pupil of the Barbara M. G. Lynn American Inn of Court. He graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University.
In his free time, Dawit enjoys playing basketball, playing the keyboard, raising chickens, and spending time with his family and his Kangal dog. Notably, he played semi-professional basketball during his second year of law school.
